Ordering a ring online is easy — once you know your size. Here are two reliable ways to measure at home, no special tools required.
Method 1: Measure a ring you already own
Take a ring that fits the intended finger well. Measure the inside diameter in millimeters with a ruler, and match it to the chart below.
Method 2: The string method
Wrap a strip of paper or a piece of string snugly around the base of your finger. Mark the point where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimeters — that’s your circumference.
US ring size chart
| US Size | Inside Diameter | Circumference |

| 5 | 15.7 mm | 49.3 mm |

| 6.5 | 16.9 mm | 53.1 mm |
| 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| 7.5 | 17.7 mm | 55.7 mm |
| 8 | 18.1 mm | 57.0 mm |
| 8.5 | 18.5 mm | 58.3 mm |
| 9 | 19.0 mm | 59.5 mm |
| 10 | 19.8 mm | 62.1 mm |
Three tips for a perfect fit
Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their largest. If you’re between sizes, size up — a slightly loose ring is more comfortable than a tight one. And wider bands fit more snugly, so consider a half size up for wide designs.
Buying a ring as a gift?
Borrow a ring they already wear (from the correct finger!) and measure its inside diameter — or trace its inner circle on paper. And remember: every Art For Light ring comes with 30-day returns and easy size exchanges, so a surprise gift is never a risk.
